At Design by Aldora Pty Ltd we believe that a consultative process helps us to design better kitchens. We spend time with you to understand how you work in your kitchen. We like to find out what elements work and don’t work within your current design. Knowing your cooking and shopping habits informs choices on appliances and storage. These snippets of information help realise your dream kitchen.

YOUR THOUGHTS

You may already have a pretty good idea of what you want for your new kitchen, or you may not have any idea at all! Either way, it’s good to do some of your own research before you engage a designer.

Have a look through all the amazing images here on Our Gallery to get some inspiration. It will help you get a feel for the kind of look that suits your home – and you may even discover some colour schemes or styles you haven’t considered before.

INITIAL MEETING

When you go to meet your designer, bring along any photos you have gathered, colour swatches you have picked up and images that you have saved from online searches. This will help your designer gain an insight into the kind of style you like and the overall look that you would like to achieve for your new kitchen.

You don’t have to think about all aspects of the design at this stage; this is just a starting point for you and your designer to work from. Your designer will ask you lots of questions and will discuss lots of options with you to turn your dream kitchen into a reality.

03.

DESIGN CONSULTATION

Regardless of the materials and colours that you choose for your new kitchen, the layout remains the most important aspect and I always recommend that it be the starting point in the design process.

At this stage, your designer will already have a feel for the look that you would like to achieve, and will keep this in mind when working out the best layout for your space.

Depending on the shape and size of your room, there may be one layout that works best or there may be a couple of layouts that can be considered. Either way, take the time to discuss all options with your designer.

04.

PRE-INSTALLATION SURVEY

Pre-installation surveys are carried out as a precautionary measure. This enables the team to double check all details such as measurements, services, products and highlight any areas that may cause concern during installation. While we try to eliminate all complications, we cannot be held liable for anything that is uncovered once your kitchen is removed, as in rare circumstance unforeseen issues do arise.

While designing a modular kitchen, it is imperative you do not compromise on quality be it the materials, finishes or hardware. You want a kitchen to last you through the years and the days of endless activity, hence opt for the best! If your budget is holding you back, opt for moderately priced modular kitchen fittings, instead of something from a luxury brand. Worry not, there are countless options to choose from when it gets to choosing the right materials and fittings for your modular kitchen so that it matches your taste, budget and requirements perfectly and is durable too.

05.

INSTALLATION

Different areas of your kitchen carry different manufacturer warranties ranging from 1 year on appliances to a lifetime on our soft-closing drawers and hinges. Please contact the team for more precise information.

We can attempt to make changes to your kitchen, but sometimes this is not possible as all units are made to order. We will endeavour to complete the necessary changes; however, this may incur additional costs depending on the stage of the build.

06.

AFTER CARE

We advise that you never use any harsh or abrasive cleaners on your new kitchen as this could affect finishes, colouring or scratch the material. We also recommend that you use a soft cloth and wipe over with a dry cloth to remove excess and prevent smearing on high gloss finishes.
